Three spaces, three different jobs.

Your organiser account keeps your cards together. Only the signed-in owner can manage a card. The invitation link lets people contribute, and the separate gift link immediately shows approved messages. Keep the gift link to yourself until you’re ready to give it.

These are private-by-link pages, not end-to-end encrypted messages. Anyone who gets a valid link can use it. Share in trusted groups and replace a link in card settings if it travels too far.

What the card keeps.

Hip Hip stores the recipient’s chosen name, occasion, card settings, contributor display names, notes, photos, recordings, consent choices and submission times. Google or a one-time email code verifies your organiser account. Supabase Auth processes your email, sign-in information and, if you choose Google, your basic account profile. Hip Hip uses that verified identity to know which cards belong to you. It doesn’t ask contributors for a phone number or email address.

Messages and files are stored using the hosting platform’s database and file storage. This app adds no advertising trackers or analytics. The hosting platform processes connection and security information to provide the service. Abuse protection uses short-lived hashed network identifiers.

Easy to return. Yours to control.

Creating an account and signing in use the same flow. There is no Hip Hip password or phone number to remember. Essential secure cookies keep you signed in on this browser; sign out on shared devices. Your email is not shown on cards or used for marketing by this app.

Before you save, an unfinished card draft may be kept in this browser tab for up to 24 hours. It is cleared after saving or signing out. Saved cards and messages are kept in the service, so you can return from another device after signing in.

If you made cards in the original preview, you can verify your previous account once and choose to move them to your new account. We never merge accounts based only on a name or an email typed into a form.

Little people need grown-up care.

An adult must organise the card. For a child’s card, the organiser must be a parent or guardian, or have their permission. Contributors must have permission from everyone in their recording, including a parent or guardian for children. Use nicknames where helpful. Avoid school details, addresses and other information a child wouldn’t want shared.

Every message waits for the organiser’s approval before it appears. The organiser can correct names, hide or delete messages, pause collection and replace links.

You can change your mind.

After contributing, save your private edit-or-remove link. It lets you change your name, note or permission while collection is open, or remove your contribution at any time, without an account. Edited messages wait for the organiser’s approval again. If you lose it, contact the organiser through the chat where you received the invitation.

Cards stay until the organiser deletes them. There is no automatic expiry in this first version. Organisers can delete a card from Details, or clear all their cards in Account & privacy. Links stop working immediately after deletion. If file storage is temporarily unavailable, a cleanup queue retains the files to remove and retries when the organiser opens My cards or their account page. A recipient or organiser can save an offline keepsake; deleting the online card cannot delete downloaded copies.

Take a copy or start fresh.

Account & privacy lets you download account details and written contributions, or clear all your saved cards. This does not remove your Google account or your sign-in record with the authentication provider. An offline keepsake includes the media from one card.

A card everyone can enjoy.

You can record a voice or video message, upload an existing recording, share a photo with a written description, or write a note. The photo uploader removes camera metadata and reduces large images in your browser. Full written messages appear on the card; recordings play directly when selected. The small card-options menu offers a private keepsake and printing. Keyboard controls, visible focus, screen-reader labels, adjustable browser text and reduced-motion settings are supported. Contributors can add a written transcript or note to recordings. Transcripts and captions are not generated automatically.

WhatsApp gets everyone here.

The share button opens WhatsApp with an invitation ready to send. You choose the recipients and press Send yourself. Messages are recorded on Hip Hip, not collected from your WhatsApp conversations. Hip Hip does not read your contacts, chats or phone number. Organisers can also prepare a reminder to share themselves. There are no scheduled launches or automatic messages.

About this first version.

Each account can host up to 50 cards, with up to 200 messages per card, plus 30 organiser photos. Recordings can be up to 60 seconds and files up to 8 MB. Private story playback includes contributions that opted in. Offline keepsakes include the cover, messages, photos and recordings in a single HTML file, up to 48 MB of media.

The organiser can create a video of up to three minutes in this browser, including only approved messages and photos with separate permission for public social sharing. Earlier permission for private playback does not allow public sharing. Uploaded music stays on the organiser’s device and is included in the exported file. Video exports are MP4 or WebM depending on browser support. Downloaded or posted videos do not update when someone edits or withdraws a contribution. Check permissions and the finished video before sharing.
